Principal’s Message

Welcome to East St. John Preparatory Academy, where students and staff dream, think, believe, and ACHIEVE!  We are committed to ensuring that we meet the diverse needs of our learners, so that everyone has the opportunity for an equitable learning experience.  Our priority is to provide high quality instruction with lessons that are personally meaningful and relevant to students yet differentiated to allow students multiple opportunities to meet their goals.  Each staff member enters the building fully prepared to nurture students academically, socially, and emotionally.  We continue to take pride in elevating the "VILLAGE EDUCATION" mindset!  Each stakeholder, parent, staff, community leader and student, is a part of the DREAM TEAM, and when we work TOGETHER, we create endless opportunities for our students.  My name is Courtney Jacobs.  I am truly excited and humbled to be the Principal at ESJ PREP!  While I know this will not be an easy task, I am ready to dive in and begin the work of taking the Bobcats to the next level.  It is my belief that to truly be able to teach a child, you must get to know them on a personal level.  I am committed to meeting with every student, parent, staff member and community leader to learn about the community in which I am serving and build strong relationships for the future.  For the past 8 years I have worked in the Donaldsonville area, at Lowery Middle School and Lowery Elementary School.  I have served as a Career teacher, Mentor Teacher, Master Teacher and Assistant Principal.  I am committed to providing all students with equitable opportunities to grow academically and personally, and ensuring our staff is equipped to accomplish this task.  I am dedicated to continuing my growth personally and professionally, so that the PREP community has a strong and solid leader.  I look forward to working alongside you all to ensure our students accomplish their goals.
